Vase Akio Kanemoto Hagi
Description
Rare mallet-shaped vase by Akio Kawamoto.
The glaze uses classic Hagi shades without covering the entire surface to highlight the engraved and textured body which contrasts with the neck.
Akio Kawamoto was born in 1955 in Nakano, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
He studied under Kanrin Nakano and in 1981 opened an independent kiln called Banishigama.
It has since been selected many times for exhibitions, particularly exhibitions related to the tea ceremony, its production being mainly focused on tea bowls.
