Ashimoto Tomonari, born in 1973, Untitled, Iridescent ceramic sphere.
Description
Hashimoto Tomonari's stoneware sphere, 23 cm in diameter, whose iridescent surface captures the light like a mineral planet. The metallic reflections, between deep blue, gold and purple, evoke an expanding universe. The precisely controlled reduction firing creates these layers of oxides that transform the piece into a cosmic landscape where each nuance seems to move.
Hashimoto Tomonari (born 1973 in Kyoto) studied at Kyoto University of the Arts before opening his own studio in the same city. A winner of the Nitten, the Kyoto Art Exhibition, and other national exhibitions, he quickly established himself with his pure forms and exploration of surface effects. His works are held in several public collections, including the Kyoto Museum of Art, the Shigaraki Ceramics Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, as well as in museums in the United States and Europe.
Diameter: 23 cm.
