Vase Kobayashi Bunichi Mino
Description
Kobayashi Bunichi, born in 1926 in Toki, Gifu Prefecture, specializes in Mino pottery, particularly Aoi-yaki.
A graduate of Kanazawa College of Art, he studied under Kitade Tojiro and Kato Takuo. His career has been marked by awards such as the Asahi Ceramics Prize and the Gifu Prefectural Arts and Culture Award.
An affiliate member of Nitten and winner of the Kofukai Tomo Prize, he has also served as a judge for various prefectural and municipal exhibitions.
Kobayashi traveled to the USSR, Europe, and East Asia to enrich his knowledge and share his art.
As director of Mino Tokyo, he played a pivotal role in the international promotion of Mino pottery.
As a judge for various prefectural and municipal exhibitions, he contributed to the evaluation and promotion of ceramic arts. Kobayashi also traveled extensively, visiting the USSR, Europe, and East Asia to enrich his craft and share his expertise. As director of Mino Tokyo, he played a key role in promoting Mino pottery internationally.
