Vase kumamoto Yoshitaka
Description
This vase, made by Yoshitaka Kuwamoto around 1991/92, features an abstract decoration of great visual intensity.
Vibrant colors, including bright red and touches of gold, are dynamically applied to the vase's textured surface, creating a sense of movement. The deep engraving, along with black and gold lines, structure the composition, creating an interesting contrast with the soft hues of the ceramic.
Yoshitaka Kuwamoto, born in 1948 in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, first studied oil painting at Tama University of the Arts before turning to ceramics.
After graduating from the university and its postgraduate school, he became a professional assistant at the same university between 1974 and 1983.
Kuwamoto has participated in many major exhibitions, particularly in Japan and internationally.
In 1986, several of his works were added to the public collection of the Boston Museum.
Winner of several prestigious awards, he received the Grand Prize at the Asahi Modern Craft exhibition in 1992.
His creations, often exhibited at events related to contemporary art, are distinguished by their capacity for great pictorial dynamism.
