Nishijin Silk Cushion with Lotus and Scroll Design

Contemporary cushion by Sinapango Interiors Paris, made from Japanese Nishijin-type silk textile. The ground, in an old-rose beige tone, is also used on the reverse, giving the piece a soft and warm unity.

The design combines flowing scrolls and lotus flowers, with highlights in old rose and beige. The pattern remains tone-on-tone, while the relief of the weave changes with the light and viewing angle.

In Japanese decorative arts, the lotus evokes purity and elevation, as it rises from muddy water without losing the radiance of its flower. Here, the motif is not narrative: it works as a refined textile design, carried by the movement of the scrolls.

The cushion is fully removable, like all Sinapango Interiors Paris cushions.
